looking through the long grass across the pod or lake or body of water to the gum trees beyond. Striking reflections in the water with impressionist brushstrokes using a painterly style. This was inspired by a view I stumbled on right on the fringe of the Jervis National Park at Vincentia, vey close to Huskisson on the south coast of NSW. It was an overcast day and I loved the moody greys and charcoal colours in the scene before me that felt very gentle yet striking. I love nothing more than painting the Australian bush - I find it captivating!
