I am working on a new series of Fish Markets, but not those huge, soulless and cold buildings.
Fisk Markets where people are coming together, by the beach or near the beach, where the catch is fresh, where fish is work, daily. Where fish is smelly and men and women are making a living with a direct contact with Nature.
This piece is particularly colourfull and bright.
Is a statement.
Neon signs, wires, people, confusion.
If you have been there you know what I mean, if you havent, you can probably imagine it.
Local fish is the primary source of this life, sold on stalls or restaurants, cooked on the street, caught not far.

Where the Trees Hold the Sunset is an original acrylic landscape inspired by the National Arboretum Canberra — a place that has lived in my heart, my family life, and my painting practice for more than ten years.

This autumn view captures the Arboretum at sunset, when the forests glow in bands of gold, rust, crimson and green, and the surrounding Canberra hills fall into soft blue evening shadow. The painting is expressive, layered and full of movement, with loose modern impressionist brushwork that evokes both the changing season and the living rhythm of the trees.

The National Arboretum is far more than a subject for me. I have held three solo exhibitions there, watched my children grow up running through its forests in every season, admired it from above during hot air balloon flights, and walked its paths so often that I feel I know them with my eyes closed. It is a created oasis of nature, a sanctuary of birdsong, memory, colour and quiet devotion. In many ways, it is the home of my artistic soul.

Painted with professional-grade acrylics on gallery-wrapped thick-edge canvas, this panoramic work brings warmth, depth and a sense of place into a room. It is a celebration of Canberra’s landscape, the poetry of autumn, and the enduring love between an artist and the treesa that keep calling her back.

Painted in a modern impressionist style, this work captures Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra at sunrise during another balloon-festival morning, as hot air balloons rise over the water in the still light. I wanted to hold that glorious moment when the lake turns to gold and the day feels open with freedom, hope and the promise of a good life. Loose brushwork, luminous reflections and a shifting sky give the painting movement, warmth and lift.

This painting is part of my Autumn Series 2026, capturing a familiar Canberra view toward Black Mountain and the Telstra Tower, seen from somewhere in the National Arboretum, Canberra.

As the forest starts to lose its leaves, several yellow‑tailed black cockatoos gather in the bare branches, harvesting seedpods — a small, lively detail against the wide landscape.

I’ve also added the magic Canberra gets each year: every March for nine days, the city’s sky transforms with hot air balloons drifting through the early morning light, turning the familiar horizon into something quietly celebratory.
