Burst of Spring

“Burst of Spring” was inspired by the overwhelming beauty of tulip gardens in full bloom and the emotional freshness that spring brings. I wanted to capture that joyful moment when nature awakens with color, light, and energy after winter.

Tulips symbolize renewal, hope, and happiness, and I chose a close-up composition to immerse the viewer directly into the heart of the flowers. Rich pinks, warm oranges, sunny yellows, and vibrant reds contrast beautifully against luminous green leaves, creating a feeling of abundance and celebration.

Through layered oil painting techniques, I aimed to express not only botanical beauty, but also the uplifting emotion of spring itself.

Galina Lintz is a self-taught artist whose vibrant oil paintings reflect her deep connection to nature and love of color, texture, and light. With a Ph.D. in chemistry and over 22 years of experience teaching mathematics and science, Galina brings a unique blend of precision and emotion to her art. Her scientific background informs her layered techniques, while her creative vision brings each canvas to life.

After transitioning from teaching to painting full time, Galina has exhibited her work in galleries across the United States, including solo shows at the Jansen Art Center in Washington and ongoing displays at Waikiki Ocean Gallery in Honolulu. Her collectors span the globe.

Galina’s original oil paintings often depict tropical flowers, coastal scenery, and still lifes inspired by her time in Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, and the French Riviera. Her process often incorporates 3D textures, resin, and fine details to create immersive, emotionally uplifting works.

She currently divides her time between Hawaii, Washington, and Europe, always seeking new inspiration and fresh perspectives.
