Held by Love

This artwork is inspired by the themes of love, protection, and emotional security in early childhood. I wanted to capture a moment where care is felt quietly and deeply — a time when a child feels completely safe. Polar bears were chosen for their strong symbolism of protection, family bonds, and gentleness beneath strength.

The painting is created using mixed media techniques with sculptural texture, allowing the surface to become tactile and expressive. Influenced by narrative and whimsical art, I focus on storytelling compositions that transform everyday routines into meaningful visual moments. The soft color palette and layered textures enhance warmth and emotional connection, inviting both children and adults to engage with the story.

Galina Lintz is a self-taught artist whose vibrant oil paintings reflect her deep connection to nature and love of color, texture, and light. With a Ph.D. in chemistry and over 22 years of experience teaching mathematics and science, Galina brings a unique blend of precision and emotion to her art. Her scientific background informs her layered techniques, while her creative vision brings each canvas to life.

After transitioning from teaching to painting full time, Galina has exhibited her work in galleries across the United States, including solo shows at the Jansen Art Center in Washington and ongoing displays at Waikiki Ocean Gallery in Honolulu. Her collectors span the globe.

Galina’s original oil paintings often depict tropical flowers, coastal scenery, and still lifes inspired by her time in Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, and the French Riviera. Her process often incorporates 3D textures, resin, and fine details to create immersive, emotionally uplifting works.

She currently divides her time between Hawaii, Washington, and Europe, always seeking new inspiration and fresh perspectives.
