The piece was imagined from memories of rope swinging and climbing trees along the banks of the Macquarie River in Dubbo, close to where the artist grew up. Her connection to the land and environment from her childhood is a consistent theme in her current series, Renewed.
Oil pastel layered on top of acrylic, applied to the canvas in an energetic and swift movement, give the illusion of flowing river water, with the colours of the native fauna reflecting on the water, and weeping willows cascading over the far end of the river bank.
