Still Here

Still Here is an original acrylic painting on board, part of my ongoing Australian landscape work. It began the way these paintings always do, with a loose, accidental ground, half accident and half intention, made somewhere in the middle where the paint and I meet. The blues and greens swirl through it, cockatoos gather in the tree, and two figures find their own place in it, one in the thick of things, one resting at the edge.
