Artwork Description

One of the first places I went to after migrating to Australia from Scotland were the Glass House Mountains in Queensland.
I was blown away by the magnitude of the space, it seemed to go on forever into the distance. A visual shock in the best way, expansive skies, hard shadows and land stretching outwards. Huge impact.
The colours in this work are saturated, almost surreal like a Sci Fi movie set, I found the whole place inspiring. I also used ripped calico on the board for textural effect.
A partner piece to Mt Coonowrin/Mt Beerwah from my show; HOME/land which was at Field Trip Gallery , Paddington Brisbane in October this year
