Roses spilling over the railings of a neighbour's garden. This work is part of my Fitzroy series developed from walks around this eclectic suburb. Victorian era grand houses sit next to bluestone worker's cottages and warehouse conversions. Lace ironwork next to graffiti, factory walls against unexpected profusions of nature. This work shows expressive brushstokes and warm rose colours on a layered off- white surface. Yupo paper is an acid free, tree free synthetic paper made from 100% polypropylene. It is very smooth and flat and holds ink and paint very precisely making it a lovely surface to work on.
