Sand

Ripples in the sand, soft and gritty, warm from the sun. Bright fragments of smooth shell, iridescence catching the light. This work has highly textured paint and is varnished matte with gloss over the single white brushstroke. iridescent copper paint is also used. One photo shows Sand pictured with Desert Rose. This work has 2 wires on the back so it can be hung in vertical or horizontal format.

Light, energy, emotion - I am interested in visual perception and visual sensation. Nature inspired organic shapes and contrasts of colour and texture explore themes of energy and place. Brushstrokes are left raw and immediate recording my presence in the work. Their abstraction invites a collaboration with the viewer to complete a mood or experience that is individual to each person.
