I lean on texture, patterns, and colour to depict nature in my art. I enjoy using fantasy like objects to create mysterious, unusual, yet recognisable landscapes that call us into their story.
Unlike my sunset paintings, the series of ‘Repose’ artworks do not explicitly prompt the viewer to cheer up or point them in a brighter direction. Instead, they give access to a state of mind in which a viewer feels comfortable to acknowledge and make peace with their emotions. My aim is to give the viewer energy to tackle the common life problems through tranquility and calmness exuded by the artworks. The paintings are not just beautiful images, they are a form of bottled hope.
This painting has been framed in a natural pine frame.
