Last of the Light by Amanda Cameron is one of a series called 'Swimmer'. This series explores the interaction and connection between water, light and form. At the same time, the primary focus is the quest for refuge, quietness and escapism. These paintings juxtapose the lone swimmer and a few minutes of introspection. The constant struggle between hyper-realism and a painterly quality in my work is a conflict I always try to balance; therefore, thick paint, abstraction, and evident brush strokes are obvious when viewed, while still retaining a sense of realism. This piece is painted in professional oil paints on a museum-quality canvas and finished with edges painted and varnish for protection. It comes framed in an Oak floating box frame and is ready to hang, and includes a certificate of authenticity.
