'Abundance' is a painting inspired by the softer colours and beauty of a flourishing countryside flower garden. A simple colour palette of light blues and hints of purple and pink create a soft, calm and homely feel. The soft floating organic shapes are painted to create movement almost like a light swaying dancing motion which again enhances that overall peacefulness. A composition of unique organic shapes and natures finest colours that work together forming an abstract representation of the calmness in nature and its mesmerising colourful beauty.
Choosing the colours at the start of a piece is an important part of my artistic process and and I love choosing the colours through how I am feeling and what I want the viewer to also feel. It is fascinating how a certain colour can really change a rooms ambiance and feel. Purple symbolises: spirituality, mystery, royalty, luxury and imagination. The effects of purple are that it enlightens, inspires, uplifts and encourages. Blue can represent rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming and release feelings of tranquility. Blue is also cooling in nature and helps with balance and self-expression. Blue is a lovely compliment to the seductive purples and pinks in this artwork.
