Artwork Description

The softer neutral palette adds to a sense of calm and tranquility within this artwork. Inspired by the textures, colours and shapes in nature I wanted to really pull back on my usual bold bright colour palette. I have tried in the past but always ended up adding bold colours to the works, this one remained neutral and I really do love how soft and yet still so inviting and enticing it is. The details in this are just beautiful with different brushstrokes and textures in the layers.

MY PROCESS
I begin with choosing my colour palette which gives me an insight into the mood of the painting right away. I then start to layer the acrylic paint, more often than not I'm working from left to the right of the canvas. (Some people have commented how unusual this process is, I see it as completely normal). Building up the colours as I go, I use complementary colours to create the depth and contrast to the artwork. I also love to show movement which comes from exaggerating the sweeping movement of the brush as I paint. This forms a lovely organic feel, which enhances my love for depicting nature in my work.

THE FINISH
The painting has been created on artist quality 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat of UV resistant gloss varnish, protecting the longevity and enhancing the vibrancy of the colours.

The sides of the canvas have been painted and is a continuation of the painting, so that the image wraps around the edges.

AUTHENTICITY
Your painting will be hand signed on the front and back, with its title written on the rear of the canvas. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity.

Amber draws inspiration from the Australian landscape and its botanical forms. Amber translates elements of the natural world into abstract compositions that focus more on feeling over their representation.

Through layered colour, organic movement and considered placement, Amber aims to create paintings that bring a sense of calm, balance and natural energy into a space. Nature acts as a starting point — a reference for growth, rhythm and softness — while abstraction allows the work to remain open, personal and enduring.

Each piece is created intuitively, with attention to colour formations and harmony. Amber is drawn to how colour can influence and impact a room and how art can anchor an interior, shaping not only how a space looks, but how it feels.

Amber’s work is intended to be lived with — collected for its emotional resonance, longevity and ability to connect the beauty of the natural world with contemporary interiors.
