Artwork Description

My partner sometimes comes home with snippets of flowers for me as he knows how much I love flowers and nature. This time round he comes home with a Pride of Madeira. It was so unique I have never seen a flower like it. The small purple flowers were so vibrant and pretty. We didn't even know what it was until we put the call out on social media. It is native to the island of Madeira and is much visited by bees and butterflies for its nectar. I have named this painting after the plant 'Pride of Madeira'. The colour palette was influenced by the bold purple tones of the flowers. Small floral elements are scattered throughout the artwork representing all the tiny beautiful flowers on this plant. Also energetic brushstrokes giving a sense of bees and butterflies moving freely over the plant happily searching for the nectar. I have included a work in progress photo in which you will see the flower and how I was inspired by it's unique beauty.

Amber draws inspiration from the Australian landscape and its botanical forms. Amber translates elements of the natural world into abstract compositions that focus more on feeling over their representation.

Through layered colour, organic movement and considered placement, Amber aims to create paintings that bring a sense of calm, balance and natural energy into a space. Nature acts as a starting point — a reference for growth, rhythm and softness — while abstraction allows the work to remain open, personal and enduring.

Each piece is created intuitively, with attention to colour formations and harmony. Amber is drawn to how colour can influence and impact a room and how art can anchor an interior, shaping not only how a space looks, but how it feels.

Amber’s work is intended to be lived with — collected for its emotional resonance, longevity and ability to connect the beauty of the natural world with contemporary interiors.
