Tropical Oasis is a large abstract landscape painting inspired by my love of being near the coast and holidays in small beachside towns. A place where we can go to contemplate, relax and enjoy the warm sunshine. I have created this one in a modern fun style featuring two of my coastal loves - palm trees and tropical flowers. A soothing colour palette of sea blues, tree greens, pink, purple and neutral beige creating a tranquil and calm feel. The tropical organic forms are layered and painted to create movement almost like a light sea breeze motion which again enhances that overall peacefulness. A composition of rhythm and natures stunning colours that work together forming an abstract representation of the calmness in nature and its mesmerising rhythmic flows.
Choosing the colours at the start of a piece is an important part of my artistic process and and I love choosing the colours through how I am feeling and what I want the viewer to also feel. It is fascinating how a certain colour can really change a rooms ambiance and feel. Green can represent new beginnings and growth. It also signifies renewal and abundance. Green also has calming attributes similar to the feelings of when we are immersed in nature. The colour blue represents both the sky and the sea and is associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, inspiration, and sensitivity. Blue can represent rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming and release feelings of tranquility. Blue is also cooling in nature and helps with balance and self-expression. Two colours that are harmonious with one another and compliment feelings of inner peace and calm.
I want this artwork to invoke happiness, rest and a calmness within the viewer and the room that is hanging in. Perfect addition for someone who loves being surrounded by the tranquility of nature and to be able to bring the essence of nature and its emotions inside into your home.
