Artwork Description

Welcome to my collection of wine paintings : "From Palate to Palette" featuring "When only the Best"
This painting is delivered to you ready to hang and framed with a float frame*.

WHY THIS WINE?

Note from ANDO:
"One of my favourite subjects to paint is wine because it combines two fascinating challenges. The curved glass surface is both reflective and transparent, constantly changing the way it catches the light. I find that both technically demanding and immensely rewarding to paint.

I've always loved history, and painting landmark bottles of wine allows me to tell part of their story in a new way through art.

Painting this famous 1947 Château Petrus was a particular thrill. I was captivated by the intricate detail of the label and wanted to capture a quiet moment—almost as though someone had just poured a glass from one of the world's most celebrated wines and stepped away for a moment to savour the occasion."

A LEGEND IN A BOTTLE
Some wines become famous. A handful become legends.

The 1947 Château Petrus from Pomerol is widely regarded as one of the most extraordinary wines ever produced. Created during an exceptionally hot growing season in the years following World War II, it developed remarkable richness, concentration and character that collectors still speak about with reverence almost eighty years later.

Today, original bottles are among the most sought-after wines in the world, often commanding astonishing prices whenever one appears at auction.

Artist Bio

Ando is the only artist to have ever created not only the world's largest work of art (that could only be seen from a plane) but also the world's largest canvas painting by a single artist (almost 100 metres around!).
...yet, he is also known for his incredible detailed canvas paintings.
Ando has an incredible portfolio of work that reflects his style of 'ando realism' - an amazing feel for composition, perception, reflection, depth, shadow & light. The viewer wants to drink the wine, walk into the landscape or touch the feathers of each bird. An incredible feat for an artist who has never had an art lesson in his life!

A picture may say a thousand words, but Ando's paintings will leave you speechless!

Ando has been painting since he was four and has been a professional artist for more than thirty years having sold thousands of paintings and prints to collectors around the world.
We will be adding more info on Ando and his career in the "In the Studio" section here on Bluethumb. We also like sharing the stories about Ando's amazing art!

This is Ando's first venture with an online gallery and is very excited about sharing his work with you via Bluethumb!.

Look for his release of future collections including:
- wine
- food and candy
- outback & australiana
- birds
- seascapes
and whatever other themes he wants to challenge himself with!!!
