Still Life No 95 - Bloom Collection

Still Life No.95 is vibrant and joyful, bursting forward from its charcoal black background to bring a sense of liveliness to your space.

This work is from a small collection entitled "Bloom". I'm not always aware of why I put certain palettes together however looking at this completed collection, I see my love of tradition textiles from Central America and Southeast Asia shining through. The vibrant yet often clashing colours just seem to sing when they are placed together. The vessels in this series are, as usual, modelled on vintage vases and jugs but reimagined with a modern feel.

This work has been painted using artists quality acrylic paints and sealed using a satin varnish for a very slight sheen. It has been carefully framed using Tasmanian Oak with a wire attached so it's ready to unpack and hang!

Andria Beighton is a Melbourne based artist, currently absorbed in the creation of distinctive, still life paintings with a floral focus. A self taught artist, Andria has developed a unique, meticulously clean and balanced style. Andria’s background in floristry and accessory design are evident in her subject selection and carefully constructed colour palettes. A lifelong love of textile, homewares and architectural design from the 1930’s to 1970’s is explored through her work, lending her paintings their unmistakable nostalgic allure.
