This cheerful still life features 2 amorous Love Birds, or Peach Faces, falling in love amongst tumbling lemons.
Three stacked teacups form the pedestal upon which they perch. A checkered tablecloth gives movement to the scene. I wanted to create a charming farmhouse style piece, to grace a country kitchen, or cottage space.
This piece has been rendered in highly pigmented watercolour pencils, before light layers of varnish were sprayed to seal the work and release the vibrancy of the pigments beneath.
The surface is highest grade 300 gsm, 100% cotton watercolour paper, which has a delightful weight and texture. All materials are archival quality.
This work is ready to hang with frame, sturdy D-rings and wire. The work is UV and dust protected by a layer of perspex.
I have signed this work on the front, with year and title on the back. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each piece.
