"Just Being a Galah" by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting and requires framing to hang.
Galahs are one of Australia's most playful parrots. Their plumage is a beautiful shade of pink, their back and wings are grey and they boast a stylish white crest tinged with pink. Galahs always look happy and are forever playing like court jesters, as is this one trying to balance on the very tip of an upright branch on a windy day.
Painted without prior sketching, gives me a freer hand and allows me to capture the essence of my subject better. I hope you feel it too!
Mission: I strive to express emotion in my artwork and hope it resonates with you too. I hope that it evokes a positive feeling of joyful peace and that it brightens up a special spot in your home. My style is a combination of looseness and detail, allowing watercolour to do its magic and then adding some detail bringing the subject to life.
Images: The painting has been professionally scanned depicting the colours as close as possible to the painting. The framed image above is for illustration purposes only as is the in-situ example, where all care is taken for artwork to be proportionally as correct as possible.
