"Looking Back at Urunga" by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting.
Urunga is a gorgeous coastal town and the meeting point of the Kalang and Bellinger Rivers. It's renowned for it's kilometre long boardwalk that takes you across the inlet to the ocean. It makes the perfect morning walk and on our our way back I decided to get off the boardwalk and walk along the rocks back to Urunga, well at least some of the way.
It was here that I found this lovely vantage point and inspiration for my painting. It takes you along the breakwall to a solitary Mangrove, then onto the beach. The Holiday park where we stayed is suggested and you might be able to see some "late model" caravans. Behing the park and slightly up the hill is the township and some houses and buildings appear between the trees. Some of those pinetrees are more than 100 years old and reach right up to the sky. The mountain range is in the distance, and Im hoping that if you're a Urunga lover, as we are, it might resonate with you too.
