Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

I was actually inspired to paint these by possibly the most undesirable of our liliies, the roadside Formosa Lily. I know it is classed as a weed, but you must admit, that when they are in flower, they beautify our country roads.

I have added some soft stylised colour to these flowers inspired by the lovely magenta stripes they display, and made them into a new lily, an imaginary one, and it is not a weed. The little butterfly loves his environment too. I hope they bring you some joy.

Mission: I strive to express emotion in my artwork and hope it resonates with you too. I hope that it evokes a positive feeling of joyful peace and that it brightens up a special spot in your home. My style is a combination of looseness and detail, allowing watercolour to do its magic and then adding some detail bringing the subject to life.

Images:  The painting has been professionally scanned depicting the colours as close as possible to the painting. The framed image above is for illustration purposes only as is the in-situ example, where all care is taken for artwork to be proportionally as correct as possible.
