"Remnants at the Inlet" by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting fully framed and ready to hang.

Our beautiful area here on the South Coast of NSW holds a rich history of life in yesteryear. Every now and then, the current washes away enough sand to expose the old Narrawallee Bridge and silica supports, as seen on the sand in the painting. Back in the 1930s silica was mined at Lake Conjola and transported via a light railway track to Bannister Head from where it was shipped to New Castle and Port Kembla, and finally made into fire bricks.
I was lucky to have known Alex McAndrew, who did a lot of research into the history of our area and wrote several books, and it's from these that I have sourced the information.

The painting shows the exposed railtrack bridge on the sand, and the raging current in and out of Narrawallee Inlet, The water is beautifully turquoise and you can see the submerged rocks that were once covered in oysters.

Mission: I strive to express emotion in my artwork and hope it resonates with you too. I hope that it evokes a positive feeling of joyful peace and that it brightens up a special spot in your home. My style is a combination of looseness and detail, allowing watercolour to do its magic and then adding some detail bringing the subject to life.
