HIBISCUS

This textured abstract work accentuates the exotic characteristics of the Hibiscus flower. I wanted to used a neutral palette to which I then applied a hint of orange to give a sense of warmth. This work has 3 coats of satin varnish and includes a signed & dated Certificate of Authenticity.

Joanna Landman is mainly known for her abstract works which tend to lean towards biomorphic forms reminiscent of nature. Self-described as an organic/abstract painter and digital photographer, her works often offer a sense of movement or calmness and yet at other times her paintings depict a certain philosophical symbolism with the use of bold shape and form. More recently her monochromatic works explore the interconnection between textile and paint.
