Into The Woods

I wanted this conceptual work to depict one's journey into uncharted territory...offering a choice of pathways to consider. I decided on a mat black background to push the subject matter forwards, inviting the viewer to explore further. The trees and wood frame are finished off with 3 light coats of satin varnish.

Joanna Landman is mainly known for her abstract works which tend to lean towards biomorphic forms reminiscent of nature. Self-described as an organic/abstract painter and digital photographer, her works often offer a sense of movement or calmness and yet at other times her paintings depict a certain philosophical symbolism with the use of bold shape and form.
