Labyrinth

Labyrinth is a conceptual painting that explores the sense of being immersed in tall woodland. I used a palette of orange, peach, tan, ocher, brown and white on a mat black background to invite the viewer into the work. It's finished with 3 light coats of satin varnish on the vertical lines and it's ready to hang.

Joanna Landman is mainly known for her abstract works which tend to lean towards biomorphic forms reminiscent of nature. Self-described as an organic/abstract painter and digital photographer, her works often offer a sense of movement or calmness and yet at other times her paintings depict a certain philosophical symbolism with the use of bold shape and form.
