Original Artwork's Description

The bulbous sphere of delicate flowers, standing tall atop the sword-shaped leaves, urges
you to take notice and to admire the theatrical nature of the agapanthus.
Using layer upon layer of high-quality, artist grade coloured pencils, this global agapanthus
umbel depicts the emergence of a bloom. Revealing brightly coloured blue-purple, trumpet
shaped flowers.
The picture is completed with a black acrylic paint background to enhance the striking
colors nature provides.
I have agapanthus in my garden. Their flower emergence reminds me of the approaching
warmer weather, and that the festive season is around the corner.

Stylised scene is a representation and not the exact frame this work comes with.

Artist Bio

Creating in Western Australia, I am a Perth-based artist.
I am a self-taught artist working with a variety of mediums including acrylic, pen, graphite ,marker, pastel and coloured pencils.
Growing up influenced by my mother ,an artist herself, I was regularly exposed to all facets of the art world; regular trips to studios and galleries, to experimenting with different art mediums and techniques.
The beauty of the world around us lead me to explore my fascination with intricate details and the geometric construction of nature and it’s wonders.
My inspiration comes from many things , from objects and shapes to architectural detail, and everyday life, from the finest of bird feathers to the organic structures of the world.
I enjoy combining realism and surrealism through a range of mediums - from pen , to pastel , to acrylic.
Though my subject matter may vary, the detail and pattern within remain constant, as I strive to evolve the intricacies of each piece.
