Wendy’s secret garden is one of my most favourite spots for some plein air or a stroll. I am always attracted by this amazing huge fig tree right in front of the Brett Whiteley house and I decided to give it a go this morning. At the same time I couldn’t resist the temptation of including the house in the painting as well, especially whenthe sun started to light up the house. In the end the beautiful house is still the star surrounded by this magnificent tree.

I can’t believe how many plein-air-perfect days we get this holiday season! Every morning is a new adventure to find new inspiration. And they are everywhere! Love how the morning light lit up the rows of colourful kayaks and dinghies under the tree. A young couple came to retrieve their kayaks for a morning paddle and felt sorry that they disturbed me. Luckily I almost finished. The excitement of plein air painting! It forced me to act quickly, not only because of the ever changing light, but also because my subjects can disappear all of a sudden 😂
