Artist Bio

Born in Zagreb Croatia, (then the former Yugoslavia) my family immigrated to Australia when I was eight. We lived a rather nomadic and transient life from the the time that I was born till I completed high school. I believe this may be one of the reasons I am always moving on to new things and why my art is so eclectic in it's style. In the mid 80’s I completed a BA in Interior Design at The Sydney College of the Arts. After graduating I travelled for two years throughout Europe and South East Asia, then returned back to Sydney, worked full time within the interior design industry and a few years later started a family.

In 2002 I started exhibiting and selling at group exhibitions and at the annual local Balmain Art & Craft Show. In 2008 I entered the Sydney City of Villages art competition and was selected as a finalist. Some of my early works were motivated by movements such as Bauhaus, Der Stijl, mid-century art and design, as well as architecture and interiors. I paint in acrylics but have also produced a series of mixed media, pencil drawings, life drawings as well as portraits. I love experimenting with different styles inspired by various artists and movements and adapting them to my own style. I work on my art in cycles, I find that it gives me a purpose and a creative outlet particularly during times of uncertainty, it’s also an opportunity to focus on doing what I love while experimenting with different techniques, gathering new ideas and developing my own eclectic style.
