This oil painting is based off a candid photo that I took of my good friend, Suné, while she was preparing a birthday lunch for me. I thought that she looked so elegant and serene, and it would make the perfect painting.
This artwork was created using the finest quality oils on wooden board. I painted this using a new technique of building up multiple transparent layers of paint to create an interesting visual effect. I love looking closely at an artwork and seeing visible brushstrokes, thickly layered paint in certain areas, and other areas to appear transparent.
