Artwork Description

Flowers and still life's have been an inspiration to generations of artists. I was asked to paint a vase of flowers for a friends Mother with a Bec Schopen style, so I got out all of my tools of the trade and got to work. I had so much enjoyment that I painted two variations. My still life style is a mix of thick vintage looking impasto to depict background wallpaper, chunky cabbage roses with subtle Australian flora with spray paint. The gold leaf is gentle touch to depict more of a vintage feel to the scene.
