The Keeper Of Culture & The Story Tellers diptych is an exploration of the connections between women through generations and the relationships that bind and shape us. We are drawn together to keep the shared memories and stories alive of the mothers and grandmothers we have loved and lost and to provide deep roots to our younger generation, by giving them an understanding and love of where they came from and the influences that have shaped our family culture. Nurturing these relationships with story telling and creating memories (these are the good old days) is a reminder what matters most in life and how we are connected.

Bec Schopen is an artist based in Sydney, Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Conveying the "abstract female soul", she explores the connection between women through generations as well as the relationships that bind and shape us. Schopen's distinctive works vary from decorative abstract to representational, however, they are characterized by vibrance, warmth, engaging narratives, and expressions of the soul.
