Depicting a number of native Western Australian flora species, this painting was completed for an exhibition celebrating 60 years of the Kings Park Festival in Perth. The brief for the exhibition was to depict the state's amazing wildflowers with a vintage vibe, hence the retro 70s feel of this piece. The sideboard and wood panelled wall are based on the memory of both items that featured in my childhood home (if only we’d kept that sideboard!). The sides of the painting are painted black so it can be left unframed.
