Magpie Love - Set of four

Magpie Love is a set of four original watercolour pen drawings onto 300 gsm watercolour paper.
The images are of a pair of elegant Magpies that live close to my home, visit quite often and have been together for many years. I have enjoyed trying to capture their mannerisms, their sleek body type and their dramatic colours. Each drawing is 20cm x 20cm. When hung in a block of four with frames included they measure approximately70 cm x 70cm with a 4cm cap between each frame
They are ready to hang as they come with oak style composite frames with tempered glass and hooks on the back.

I currently live in the leafy eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I grew up on a farm in the beautiful Yarra Valley where my appreciation of nature and the elements developed into the driving force in my art. I have always enjoyed painting. I find it relaxing and like my own form of meditation. I paint with acrylics onto canvas and quite often use a combination of brush and pallet knife in my work.
I love the challenge of trying to interpret the relationships of light and colour in what we see in nature.
