In my 'Black Classics' series, I follow the design format of the Penguin paperback classics, so that each painting has the title of the book and author in the lower section, and then an image that relates to that book above. The text and layout are distorted - in most of my paintings now, I try to find a balance of painterly chaos and clean design.
The image is inspired by the classic film of the book, with Miranda exploring the menacing and enigmatic landscape of Hanging Rock.
Please note that the painting has painted sides, and is ready to hang without framing.
