was out on a roadtrip recently and saw some vintage Michelin Man signs at a service station, and instantly knew I had to paint him. As always with this kind of pop imagery, I wanted to subvert the original in a humorous or surrealistic way. The bright pink background, the manic expression, the onrushing figure suggested 'sugar rush' to me.

The surface of the painting is quite textured, and is built up of multiple layers of paint. The sides of the canvas are painted, and it's ready to be hung without framing. The painting has a glossy varnish.
