Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

Eight blue vertical rectangles gently pulse back and forth against a foggy mid grey.
The tonal values are inspired by an early morning drive to work in a deep heavy morning fog. Traffic lights started to glow out of the grey as I approached.
After experimenting with colour I found that a light warm blue provided the right amount of hue separation and vibration from the grey.
The eight blue vertical columns reference a great painting by a great American artist and his birthplace is the name of this painting.
Please look into the soft luminous blue and melt.
