Light Patch by Bruce Peebles, draws on inspiration from a trip to The Whitsundays and North Queensland expressing inner feelings of the sun reflecting off the ocean. Fascinated by the way light falls on objects and continuously casts itself throughout the day, Bruce uses his understanding and experience to recreate this on canvas.
In this artwork the light shimmers on the ocean, dances on the waves and skips along the surface, casting magnificent prisms this way and that, shining with and reflecting a subdued, tremulous light. Gleaming faintly, it appears to quiver or vibrate whilst forming a wavering image, by specular reflection off the waves. Implying a feeling of serenity, this artwork creates a gentle feeling of freedom and enlightenment.
