Artist Camelle Denny is a contemporary oil painter mostly self taught, always learning…
Camelle grew up in Sydney, was married and spent 10 years living in Carnarvon in Western Australia, where her daughters were born, and family came first. The WA and Central Australian landscape/seascapes with inspiring richness of colours are just waiting to escape her bucket list..
In 1988 her family moved to the UK and the soft beauty and atmospheric landscapes became embedded in her soul. Travelling in a convertible through the Alpine regions of Europe has added to her bucket list of majestic snow capped mountains and lush green valleys, and of course New Zealand is just across the water!!
Travelling as she has, her subjects and techniques often change, from beloved pets to mountains to seascapes, with occasional paintings influenced by the Northern Lights as in her “Energy of Light “ painting.
WOW was her first thought when she was impressed with an Irish painter’s colourful cloudy sky. Many years later this artist,Philip Gray of county Cork in Ireland was holding workshops, which she attended over a 2 month period, when not doing the workshop she was welcomed to paint in his studio. A kind hearted and very generous man indeed.
Camelle became a certified Bob Ross Instructor whilst living in the UK and occasionally gives workshops through her local art society.
Eventually Camelle returned to Australia and settled on the beautiful Far South Coast of NSW. Her love of atmosphere and the coastline, led Camelle to participate in a 2 week workshop with US artist, Byron Pickering on the Oregon coast. Meanwhile improving her knowledge of colours with US artist Carol McIntyre.
For Camelle, Art is a visual expression of emotions.
