A man sits and ponders.
Taking out a sketch pad, he draws what he sees.
What does he see?
Only the man knows.
This is the Philosopher's Path, Kyoto Japan.
Named after the influential Japanese philosophers who walked this cherry tree lined path in quiet contemplation.
In my own quiet studio reflections, I have drawn a man who took the time to appreciate the sound of bubbling waters and the wind in the trees.
Made using earthy olive, pine and juniper greens, burnt siena and dark sepia brown tones, with vivid touches of orange and ochre yellows.
