Artwork Description

Very limited print 1/10 only and is the best quality Giclee print on Canvas. I painted this as I love the green rooms of the forest and the light filtering through the trees creating all the shades of green and reflected in the water. This is an extremely high quality print on canvas that is fade proof for a lifetime, stretched and framed with an inner slip frame and outer limewashed frame.

Artist Bio

Susan Capan is an Australian artist whose practice spans more than three decades. From her early years sketching on the outskirts of Melbourne to her current studio on Tamborine Mountain, her work reflects a sustained engagement with landscape, observation, and place.

Her artistic development began in childhood and evolved through years spent in the Dandenong Ranges before relocating to the Gold Coast and later Tamborine Mountain. The surrounding rainforest environment continues to inspire her subject matter, particularly in her experimental play with botanical forms, rainforests and natural light.

Susan has worked as a private art teacher for over 30 years, guiding students across a range of skill levels with a strong emphasis on technique, confidence, and individual expression. She with her husband also built and founded Capanart Gallery, which has operated since 2009 and served both as a platform for her own work and as a supportive exhibition space for other artists.

Her portfolio encompasses a broad stylistic range, including detailed florals, landscape studies, and semi-abstract works. Moving between realism and abstraction, her paintings balance structure with spontaneity and restraint with colour intensity. Recurring themes include wildflowers, rainforest settings, and nocturnal or low-light scenes.

Susan’s work is held in private collections throughout Australia and internationally, including the U.S., U.K., South Africa, Croatia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Russia, and Germany. Recent commissions from her Mossy Rock series have been acquired by collectors in Paris and Mauritius.
