Freshwater Beach is one of my favourite beaches in Sydney. Hedged between Manly and Curl Curl, Freshwater is where surfing was introduced to Australia on 15 January 1915 by Hawaiian 'Duke' Kahanamoku, who carved a surfing board from a piece of local timber and demonstrated the sport to a captive crowd. There is now a statue of Duke Paoa Kahanamoku on the headland. I go there often with my family.
One Sunday afternoon I took a reference photograph standing on top of the rocks that surround the rock pool. From there the colour of the sea is absolutely amazing.
Sides painted black. No need to frame it. Ready to hang. Strong wire across the back.
