Pueblos Blancos (White Towns) are found scattered all over the southern hills of Andalucia, Spain. Most of them were fortresses that in the old days separated the Christian and Moorish territories. They are known for their beauty, seclusion (most of them are built on hilltops), rich history and ruins.
Their names come from the whitewashed buildings that comprise the towns.
This painting was inspired by one of the many Pueblos Blancos that we encountered travelling through Andalucia.
Most of the painting was done with the palette knife in order to achieve texture.
I used AS - an Australian brand of oil paint for professional artists.
