Colours of Venice celebrates the vibrant character and timeless beauty of Venice through an expressive interplay of colour, light, and reflection. It's a summer afternoon and this work captures a moment where architecture, water, and atmosphere merge into a harmonious visual experience in the stillness and quiet of the afternoon heat.
Rather than focusing on precise realism, I sought to convey the emotional essence of Venice. The warm oranges, reds, pinks, and yellows of the buildings contrast with the cool blues of the boats and waterways, creating a dynamic balance that reflects the city's history. The composition invites the viewer to journey through the narrow canal, discovering layers of architecture and subtle details that reveal themselves gradually.
A celebration of place, memory, and atmosphere, expressing how colour can transcend representation and become a language of emotion and experience.
