I loved the interplay between the reflection of the vase and the shine of the table with the delicate wooden inlay. It looked so much like a painting that I had to paint it. I love the stillness that the orchid creates, hanging from the vase. My intention was to create a little moment of understated beauty, through bold palette knife work and rough brush strokes.
