Burleigh Morning Walk Tree

I pass this giant of a tree most mornings on my walk to the lookout at Burleigh Heads, Queensland. I am fascinated by its roots wrapping in and around rocks and all that come between it and the ground it is successfully anchoring into.
This tree has endured obstacles in its life and overcome them through strength and willpower and that motivates me to conquer the mountain that I climb.
This painting is a diptych.

It would fit perfectly in a grand entrance, stairway void or a room with tall ceilings.

As the former owner of Sticky Fingers Cake Decorating on Australia’s Gold Coast, she gained recognition for her exceptional three-dimensional cake sculpting and decorating skills. After selling her business, Catherine sought a new creative outlet and found her true passion in art. Although she experimented with various mediums, oils eventually became her medium of choice, allowing her to express landscapes, portraits, and still life in a way that feels both timeless and contemporary.

Catherine's artistic journey is marked by several accolades, including First Place in the 2019 d'Arcy Doyle Art Awards for Still Life and a Highly Commended in the 2018 edition of the same awards.

Her current focus is on painting hands that tell a story and convey emotion, as well as capturing the flowers from her country garden.
