Midnight Lark by Charlotte De Pace
This original painting continues Charlotte's interest in the idea of silver linings and trying to find a 'bright side' in times of difficulty. The painting's title, Midnight Lark, not only conjures up the idea of fun, night-time adventures but also refers to the need to try and find hope in moments of darkness.
Rainbow arcs are a recurring symbol in Charlotte's artwork, chosen for their association with hope, peace and joy as well as their visual versatility in creating abstract compositions. In creating this piece, Charlotte worked from her preliminary sketches while also painting intuitively, testing out various colour combinations and compositional elements. This process results in a beautifully textured surface that allows glimpses into Charlotte's artistic process and the evolution of the final work.
Midnight Lark is hand-signed on the front and back and is ready to hang with wire attached. Please note, this artwork is UNFRAMED (the images are for framing ideas) but careful attention has been paid to the sides of the canvas (see picture in gallery images) so that it doesn't require framing. However, for an extra special finish, Charlotte recommends professional framing in a natural timber floating frame (such as the examples in the gallery images) and can be arranged through Bluethumb.
