Cheryl discovered painting in 2003 after many years exercising her artistic desires as a successful, and award winning Makeup Artist for the television and photographic industries. Cheryl found the brush skills used for `painting’ faces, weren’t so different to those needed to create exciting things with actual paint.
Being introduced to acrylics by a friend led to a passion for all things relating to painting. After working with acrylics 2 years, Cheryl was introduced to oils and watercolours in 2003. This change of medium allowed her to express her passion for flowers and colour.
Cheryl is a traditional artist, specializing in richly layered watercolour and oils, integrating a love of photography into the design process. Whilst being fascinated by flowers and their ever-changing stages, Cheryl also creates portraits of children, landscapes and seascapes.
Cheryl continues working with both oils and watercolours, with her work being exhibited in several galleries around the Central Coast, and having the honour of several watercolours being featured in ` Australian Artist Magazine’s Challenges. Cheryl has also won several art prizes, and people’s choice awards.
