Artwork Description

This work will be on display at the Bluethumb Gallery in Richmond, Melbourne for the 2023 Bluethumb Art Prize Finalists Exhibition from October 11th to November 27th. Delivery of this work will take place following the 2023 Bluethumb Art Prize Awards Night on October 26th.

The Silence Between is an original painting by Cheryl Harrison.
The title connotes the unspoken language between us that is often closer to the truth. The push and pull nature of finding common ground is reflected in the mark-making and choice of palette - at times both subtle and soft, balancing out the more lively gestural marks and bold painterly areas.

'The Silence Between’ demonstrates Harrison's distinct mark-making combined with a considered palette of beautiful soft pink, apricot and subtle neutral tones, mixed with warm rust, terracotta brown, cool grey, beige, white and black, with pops of deep green.

It is acrylic and pencil on canvas. Please check the dimensions before purchasing as images are not to exact dimensions. It is signed on the front with full signature and titled on the back with a Certificate of Authenticity.

“I’ve lived a little. I’ve travelled a lot. My work is an expression of life experiences good times and bad. I begin with a feeling and end wherever the music and the paint takes me. I’m not trying to answer life’s riddles, it’s more like… this is how I’m feeling."
