"Freesia on Fire" is part of my Mother Nature Series which was inspired by Mothers garden. The garden had began dying due to the drought and water restrictions, all except for a small area near the laundry that was watered with grey water. In this small area hollyhocks, daisies and freesias germinated , grew and bloomed.

I was inspired by the plants determination to survive and thrive in such difficult circumstances.
This painting (print) is colourful, bold and energetic. The brush work is loose and expressionistic.
