Artwork Description

This work examines the lines and structures that form along the waters edge. pilawaytakinta is the Tasmanian Aboriginal place name for Low Head and the history of the Palawa coastal landscape is front of mind when I am there. This work explores a multitude of vantage points from the distant horizon to the subtle ebbs and flow of the waters ripples.

Artist Bio

Chloe is an emerging artist making abstract works inspired by the Tasmanian landscape. Her work is motivated by and reflects both the vastness and intimacy of place. Growing up along Kanamaluka/Tamer River has provided an endless source for artistic exploration. While the landscapes of my childhood occur frequently I am also drawn to various landscapes across Lutruwita including the southern coastline and the majestic beauty of Kunanyi Mt. Wellington above Nipaluna Hobart where I am currently based.
.
I work in both Acrylic on canvas or wood panel and Gouache on paper.
